FAQ

  • What can acupuncture treat?

Acupuncture has been used for millennia to treat a wide variety of complaints. Common conditions we treat: muscle & joint pain, headaches/migraines, digestive issues, respiratory & immune conditions, menstrual difficulties, infertility, perinatal concerns, anxiety and stress.

  • How long does it take to see results?

We will provide each patient with a custom treatment plan tailored to your individual presentation and complaint. A typical course of treatment is 4-6 subsequent visits. Following this, many find ongoing monthly acupuncture tune-ups to be useful for symptom management and overall wellness.

  • Does acupuncture hurt?

While not always painless, acupuncture needles are so tiny that very little sensation is typically felt. Most people find acupuncture to be deeply relaxing and comfortable.

  • What are the side effects of acupuncture?

Most side effects from acupuncture are positive! People typically report feeling relaxed, happy and pleasantly sleepy after treatment. Occasionally, one might experience mild itching or bruising at the needle insertion site.

  • What should I eat or drink before my appointment?

A light meal prior to your appointment is acceptable. It is not advised to receive treatment on an empty or overfull stomach. Please do not partake in alcohol or drugs prior to your appointment.
